
So... Living in DC, I have noticed that Google Maps is somewhat afraid to lead it's users down Route 66, regardless of whether that way is faster, or easier, or just makes complete sense. The worst part is, you cannot even use the drag and drop option in google to force the route to include 66. It's as if 66 does not exist inside the beltway.
I would guess it's because 66 has the HOV restrictions for 3 hours in the morning and evening, but there must be a way for google to create a checkbox that says disregard HOV only roads. It is extremly annoying to have to drive down route 50 in red and green lights when 66 is occasionally smooth sailing.

I think the important words here are "...66 is OCCASIONALLY smooth sailing." When is this, the middle of the night?
