I totally agree with the article. I had a series 1 tivo that I loved. I used it all the time before there were any other
options from the cable company. But, slowly, the cable guys caught up. I don't love the cable interface, but it is
simple and works for millions of people. Tivo should have licensed the technology. When I saw them come out
with the HD solution and it cost $800 I had to laugh. Especially since there were already good linux and windows
solutions that were already in the marketplace. Now that cable has the dual tuner dvr, there isn't a reason to even
look at the tivo box. The "interface" isn't worth the money. Now, if I could just buy a receiver from the cable company
and stop paying $20 a month for the rental!
